Heritage Minutes, formerly known as Historica Minutes: History by the Minute, is a series of sixty-second short films, each illustrating an important moment in Canadian history. Produced by Historica Canada, the Minutes interrogate Canadian history, folklore and myths into dramatic story lines.The Minutes themselves have become a part of Canadian culture and been the subject of academic studies. Heritage Minutes were created by the CRB Foundation in 1991 and re-launched by Historica Canada in 2012. Since then, Historica Canada continues to produce installments released periodically throughout the year.
