The son of a wealthy politician falls in with a notorious gangster planning to rob a night club.

While influential citizen Henry Grayson is celebrating the election of a "reform" mayor, his children, Larry and Anita, are partying at a nearby beach club. Larry becomes intoxicated; and abandoned by Natalie, his sweetheart, he pays a visit to a speakeasy, where he meets a singer named Sally. Her boyfriend, Joe Hardy, a racketeer, advises her to make a play for Larry so that his father's influence might be invoked in the future. The boy becomes infatuated and showers Sally with costly gifts at his father's expense; angered at his father's disapproval, he leaves home and is implicated by Hardy in the robbing of a roadhouse safe. Grayson, Sr., forces a confession from his son, implicating Sally and Hardy, then turns the trio over to the police. Although Larry is convicted of manslaughter, the sentence is suspended and he is paroled in the custody of his father for five years.
