The Night Before Christmas: A Mouse Tale

2002NR47m5.9

Loosely based on the poem "The Night Before Christmas," this animated story explores the excitement that unexpectedly arises when a homeless mouse family must look for a new place to live.

Finding themselves homeless on Christmas Eve, the Mouse family happen upon the Atwell family home, where the Holiday spirit is in full swing. Mother and Father Mouse are happy to have found somewhere to keep their children Skip and Squeek out of the cold. Asking their parents "what's Christmas?" Skip and Squeak are told it's some "Fool thing humans celebrate". Now the Mouse children are on a quest. To find the real meaning of Christmas. Deciding it must have something to do with the sparkling tree they can see, they decide they must climb to the top where they are sure they'll find the answer to their question. It's not as easy as you might think. and the family cat has set his sights on a special Christmas Mouse meal. As they scale the tree, the children encounter a variety of enchanted ornaments, which come alive to each offer their own view on the true meaning of Christmas from eating to parties, dancing and getting together with old friends, and an elf who insists it's all about Santa Claus coming bearing gifts for nice children. It's not until they reach the very top that they find an Angel who has a very special message that Christmas is love, and it's for every living soul. A family classic you won't want to miss this season.
