Syota ng Bayan is Tanya Marquez (Priscilla Almeda),a starlet who quits showbiz and goes back to her hometown. When she finds out that a cement factory is damaging the environment and her neighbors' lives, she challenges the incumbent Mayor Golano (Eddie Garcia) to close it. When this is denied, Tanya rallies the people in a protest that is silenced. The mayor's opponents prevail upon Tanya to run for mayor in the coming election against Golano's son Peter Lee (Tonton Gutierrez). During the campaign period, Tanya and Peter Lee meet and fall in love.
