A low-born thief loves a Moroccan Princess. She must marry to escape death at the hands of her enemies. The groom is able to wed or cast away his bride simply by saying "I Marry You" or "I Divorce You" three times.

Ahmed (Turhan Bey), captain of the Emir's guards in 18th century Algiers, and the Princess Nadja (Gloria Grahame) are kidnapped by Bedouins acting under the orders of Grand Vizier Firous (Cesar Romero), so he can pose as her savior. Nadia and Ahmed escape and take refuge in the Casbah, the haven of outcasts. To save his life from the Court of Thieves, Ahmed executes the Casbah's greatest coup; he loots the palace treasury, Firous assaults the Casbah with his troops.
