Penrod and Sam

1937 NR 1h 4m 6.3

Penrod, Sam and the rest of the Jr. G Men go after a gang of murderous bank robbers.

Penrod Schofield is the leader of a secret club comprised of his school friends in their patriotism to America: the Junior G-Men Club. The secrecy, especially with adults, is due to they being undercover in their work. Despite none of the members liking Rodney Bitts, Penrod is considering letting him join the club on his merits as potential G-Man material. In addition, letting Rodney join would solve the issue of their respective fathers, Mr. Schofield who works for Mr. Bitts at the bank. Rodney always lies to his father about the nature of any altercation between him and Penrod, they always started by Rodney, who in turn always tells his father they started by Penrod. This situation places Mr. Schofield in a difficult position in not being able to stand up to Mr. Bitts for fear of his job. The nature of the animosity between the Schofields and Bittses changes when a robbery and resulting shoot-out takes place at the bank, with Penrod and the Junior G-Men needing to deal with the situation out of circumstance.
