These are the highs and lows of a young Los Angeles-area artist...stemming particularly from his romances, drugs and his craft.

Port Langlois is a tortured young artist living in Los Angeles. The major source of his painful existence is his dependency on heroin. Add to that his obsession for painting and it makes it very difficult for Alice to stay in a relationship with him. When she moves out, his world falls apart even more. Other offers of relationships are just not satisfying. His sister tosses him out of the house because he insults her husband. In fit of desperation, he heads to Mexico. By total accident he meets an old friend Sebastian who undertakes to get him started back on the road to recovery. This is aided by another chance encounter. Aliah, a young Mexican woman, knocks a pottery cup off his table at a sidewalk cafe. She apologizes profusely and agrees to replace it. When she brings the replacement to where he's staying, they discover they are both painters. She is attracted to him and takes him away from the city to the farm where she grew up. Port finds her so pure of heart, that her encouragement helps him find his inner self.
