A young man sets out to become a champion ice skater to win the Olympic gold medal, only his promoter, as well as his coach, sponsors, and father want to use him for their own advantage to make money from his newfound publicity.

Alex Dalton is a 30-year-old airplane mechanic who dreams of winning the gold medal in Olympic figure skating, but is troubled by his past after walking out of a competition against a rival Russian figure staking. Alex's dreams put a strain on his demanding father Edgar who wants him to abandon his dreams to help him run his mechanic business. Then, a shady business manager, named Brian Burke, offers to sponsor Alex for him to achieve his dream, but as a cost of firing his old coach Tom Bryant. With a sponsor, a new coach, and publicity, Alex sees his dream coming true, only to soon learn that his sponsor and new coach plan to fix the judging of all the figure skating competitions so they can use Alex and his newfound fame for personal gain.
