It is the day of the funeral of 'Frank', a businessman who leaves behind three grieving relatives - his partner Bill, estranged son Jeff and prim, snobbish sister June. June arrives at Frank and Bill's home to find that Jeff has been there for some time, sat by himself, waiting for Bill to come down ready to attend the funeral. The three are re-united for the first time in years shortly before the hearse and funeral procession arrives outside the home. In the funeral procession car, Bill, June and Jeff are forced to travel together and address their differences and differing views and opinions on exactly who 'Frank' their beloved relative was.
