Bluegrass

1988 NR 4h 6.9

A woman tries to be successful in the male-dominated horse racing business. Intrigue, greed, power games and love trying to put stones in her way.

Maude Sage has a secret wish when she returns to the place of her childhood. Her dream is to breed thoroughbreds of world class but it does not go so easily fulfilled. The snobbish society of bluegrass and her unscrupulous neighbor Lowell Shipleigh spares no meanness in order to destroy her. Against the vicious intrigues only the useful farm managers Dancy Cutler stands beside her, whose love she misconceived first. The revenge is bitterly when she falls for the persuasiveness of the equally rich as mysterious Irishman Michael Fitzgerald.
