In World War II British Columbia, Canada, a Japanese immigrant family has to endure the racist Canadian policy of being interned and their property confiscated as "enemy aliens". At the same time, a white Canadian family has to deal with their own feelings as they agree to be work as employees in this policy with Japanese being held in their area.
