In South of Heaven, Private Detective Jake Darcy is unwittingly thrown down a path of mystery and deception. When Portland local Isabella calls on him to find her missing sister, Jake comes up empty-handed. When he visits the house across the street, he discovers a woman who is nude, tortured, and near death. Thinking he's solved his missing-person case, Jake sets out to find her true identity and the person responsible for this crime. But he quickly realizes that he isn't the only one interested in this girl and becomes entwined in something even more sinister.
