When a WW2 veteran comes back home, he realizes how the war affected Americans by seeing the changes in his wife, family, and best friend.

At the end of World War 2 a stubborn family patriarch, who runs the local newspaper while raising his grandson, must come to terms with the past in order to make amends with his estranged son who returns home a war hero suffering from PTSD.
