In the small German village of Hamelin, a mysterious piper offers to rid the village of the rat infestation with his magical flute which he does by luring all of the rats away. But when the stingy mayor and his officials refuse to pay him the agreed amount for his services (not realizing that he could actually make it happen), he gets revenge against the entire village by "playing a different tune".
