The story of Lori Vallow, who gained national attention when she reported her children, JJ and Tylee, missing from their Idaho home.

Dramatization of the life of Lori Vallow from late 2017 to early 2020. This phase of her story begins in Chandler, Arizona during her marriage to her fourth husband, Charles Vallow; with them live teenage Tylee Ryan, Lori's biological daughter with her third husband, Joseph Ryan; and adolescent Joshua Vallow--J.J.--Charles' great-nephew whom they adopted; he had been diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum. Their life had been centered on Lori's long-held Mormon beliefs, including the Second Coming of Christ and its ultimate bliss; they primarily associate with like-minded people, including Lori's niece Lanie Boudreaux, her friend Melanie Gibb, and Lori's biological brother Alex Cox, whom she had always considered her ultimate protector on Earth. With all the pain that she had endured in her life, Lori wondered whether God was really planning to number her among His chosen few that would make it into that Second Coming. That worry was heightened when Lori became aware of the writings of Chad Daybell, who claimed to have had signs about that imminent Second Coming and also the death and destruction preceding it: the apocalypse. When Lori and Chad first met, they experienced an immediate emotional and physical attraction, and Lori moved her family to Rexburg, Idaho to be closer to Chad--who was already married. Lori encouraged Chad to join her mission to join their passage into the Second Coming; meanwhile, to be together until they, they had to get rid of the humans in their lives who had been inhabited by demons as seen in visions by Chad.
