Crackerjack

1994 R 1h 36m 4.5

A cop on vacation at a mountain resort comes to the rescue when the resort is taken over by violent criminals.

Jack Wild (Thomas Ian Griffith) is a Chicago cop suffering from PTSD after the murder of his wife and children. As the people around him become increasingly concerned about his erratic behavior, his brother and sister-in-law force him to accompany them on a relaxing vacation at a remote ski resort in the Rocky Mountains. Although Jack generally resists attempts to get him to enjoy himself, he develops a connection with KC (Nastassja Kinski), the resort's activities coordinator. However, the family vacation and romance come to an abrupt end when the resort is taken over by terrorists (led by Christopher Plummer as Ivan Getz). Not only does Jack realize that one of the resort guests, as well as Getz, are related to his family's murder, but he is also the only person not to be taken hostage in the terrorists' takeover. Therefore, it's up to Jack alone to figure out what the terrorists are after, how to stop them, and how to free his brother, sister-in-law, KC, and the rest of the hostages.
