Cold Justice

1992 R 1h 45m 5.8

A friendly but mysterious priest makes friends with owners of bars and pubs in a working-class neighborhood in Chicago. Only later they start wondering about his true intentions.

In a tough Chicago neighborhood, the locals escape their troubles at a popular bar called the Sin Bin. Their newest patron is Father Jim, a priest who drinks, swears and gambles his way into fast friendships with all of the Sin Bin "regulars." He encourages a has-been prize-fighter (Roger Daltrey) to return to the ring, befriends a pregnant teenager on the brink of suicide and brings hope to the life of an elderly widower. He even helps raise money for a local children's hospital, and enthusiastically agrees to be in charge of the funds. But the money never arrives at the hospital. And a string of violent tragedies occur with Father Jim as the only link among them. When their trusted new friend is exposed as a deadly enemy, the town becomes judge, jury - and executioner.
