Bosko's Picture Show

1933 NR 6m 6.1

Bosko runs a movie theater that shows a wacky newsreel with Jack Dumpsey, a slapstick short from Haurel and Lardy, and a turn-of-the-century melodrama starring Honey.

Bosko runs a movie theater. He also plays the organ and leads the audience in a sing-along. He even enters the action on screen when necessary. The movies he shows include a newsreel from Out-of-Tone Pictures ("Sees all, hears all, smells all"), which features a contentious peace conference in Geneva; a so-called bathing beauty in Malibu; a decrepit Jack Dumpsey in Reno; a wacky dog race in Epsom Salts, England; and an ax-wielding Adolf Hitler chasing Jimmy Durante in Pretzel, Germany. Next is Haurel and Lardy in "Spite of Everything." Finally, the feature film is from TNT Pictures, whose mascot is a burping lion and whose slogan is "Eenie Meanie Minie Moe." The title: "He Done Her Dirt." The subtitle: "And How!" It's a turn-of-the-century melodrama featuring a mustache-twirling villain and Honey as the damsel in distress.
