Around the World in 20 Years

2008 NR 59m 7.8

Michael Palin attempts to emulate the exploits of fictional character Phileas Fogg, by trying to circumnavigate the globe in 80 days without flying .

Michael Palin owns what must be the most-used passport in Britain. Now it has been taken out of the drawer once again for the making of his new one-off documentary, Around the World in 20 Years. In it, Palin attempts to find the participants from one of the most memorable events in his very first globe-trotting series, BBC1's Around the World in 80 Days, which was made 20 years ago. In that episode, he spent eight days and seven nights with Captain Hassan Sulyman and his crew, as they steered their open dhow, the Al Sharma, on a treacherous journey from Dubai to Bombay.
