Adiós Amigo

1975 PG 1h 27m 4.1

A conman's crimes are blamed on a good-natured fast-drawing cowboy he meets and decides to use as decoy.

Two African-American frontier-men become friends of sorts and go through various adventures together. However, one of them, Big Ben, is an honest man while the other, Sam Spade, is a con-man. Big Ben is fast with his gun while Sam Spade is fast with his mouth. In order to make easy money, Sam is pulling various scams on unsuspecting victims such as townsfolk, mayors, sheriffs, saloon card-sharks, farmers and even mine owners. This wouldn't be such a problem but he always uses his pal Ben as a decoy or leaves him behind to explain everything to angry dupes. This frustrates Ben. Their adventures lead them to various towns, Mexican villages, Sheriff's jails, ladies' parlors and even rock quarries full of hard-labor chained convicts. Sadly, most of the money they make throughout their adventures is either spent on booze and women or lost to other desperate men or Mexican bandits. Several posies, mine security guards and others coveting their money are after them. Their personal friendship and business partnership are always sorely tested by circumstances.
