12 to the Moon

1960 NR 1h 15m 3.3

An international team embarks on an expedition to the moon in an uncommonly spacious rocketship. There they encounter a faceless alien intelligence who conclude that the human race is too immature and dangerous and must be destroyed.

An international, multi-racial, men and two women crew of scientists, monkeys, cats, and of course they take a Cocker Spaniel to the moon, end up in an unexpected position of saving the entire earth from an alien deep-freeze weapon. With an obvious short budget, we're expected to believe they have some type of invisible air-tight face mask on their football helmet looking spacesuits. Made within a few years of the real first moon mission, the launch from earth is at least fairly true to life. We never however, find out how or if they return to earth; no splashdown here, but some amusing scenarios for sci-fi fans.
