Oedipus's wanderings come to an end when he finds his final resting place, as foretold by the gods. But his brother-in-law and his son each try to take him away.

Near the end of his wanderings and his life, Oedipus learns that the place where his body is to be buried will be blessed by the gods. And as he finds rest in Athens, he offers Theseus his special blessing. But Creon wants Oedipus's body for Thebes.
