As teen-agers Amy and Andy swore that, that if single at 35, they would get together. 20 years later Amy is disorganized and drink -dependent whilst Andy is a successful record producer with a son from his first marriage and bossy girl-friend Kelly when the pair meet at a birthday party for Amy's little nephew. As Amy stumbles from one disastrous one-night stand to another Andy proposes to Kelly in somewhat embarrassing circumstances. Next day Andy gets a call from Amy reminding him of their pact - but. alas, he is not the only one.
