The first feature film directed by playwright Tom Donaghy, THE STORY OF A BAD BOY was screened as part of the 1999 San Francisco Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. Set in the early 80s, this is a witty coming-of-age coming-out story about a sexually-confused Catholic boy called Pauly. Feeling stifled by his nagging mom (Julie Kavner - the voice of Marge Simpson) and macho dad (Stephen Lang), he falls hopelessly in love with Noel, a college student who's visiting his school to direct a musical production of 'The Scarlet Letter.'
Story of a Bad Boy
17-year-old Pauly is a closeted high school kid who wants it all. His dad wants him to make the track team, his mom wants him to do well in the band, and Pauly just wants to get closer to the new student teacher doing the school play.
