Something to Live for: The Alison Gertz Story

1992 NR 1h 30m 6.4

An AIDS-stricken woman becomes a leader in the struggle to educate people about the disease and its prevention.

Based on the true-life story of Alison (Ali) Gertz: one pretty, intelligent, middle-class, and HIV/AIDS stricken young woman. Molly Ringwald plays Gertz, who must come to terms with her illness and all of the lives affected by it; this unknown new disease and the dealings of ignorance that were the 1980s. This is Alison Gertz's story via her teachings of her condition to a world still waking up to this social stigma, and of her courage, sadness, and love in her short life.
