Chris Kringle and his parents are at the core of the Christmas-obsessed community in the Colorado small town of Blue Spruce, where the run a Christmas tree farm and some of the generally seasonal shops. Due to a leak, he moved into the guest room of his parents' magical home, but lands on the couch when his over-hospitable mother offers it to workaholic PR executive Emily, who gets magically stranded there instead of a working holiday on Bali. She soon discovers Santa sent her there in an attempt to 'revive' the Christmas spirit she never had in a broken family, and magically prevents her from doing any mercantile work. Hoping the 'earn' her return in time for a major campaign presentation, she attempts to partake in seasonal activities and uses her PR skills to help the Kringles save the ailing local Christmas fair, which is actively threatened by Chris's evil ex-fiancee, business shark Gwen Rinch. Santa however looks for emotional commitment, and sends over her Christmas-minded buddy Carly, who keeps pushing her to romantically engage handsome, kind Chris, despite her claim Dr. Holloway is the more suitable local, but Cupid fixes that.
