In Paddock town, the exterminator Richard Simmons and the computer and electronics technician Gerald Martin are best friends. Richard is married with the older Laura Simmons in a loveless marriage, since Richard was only interested in her money. When Gerald meets Lillian Nebbs, he immediately have a crush on her. Meanwhile, women are found dead with wounds caused by an axe, and the incompetent local sheriff takes a long time to believe there is a serial-killer in the calm Paddock. The resident question who might be the killer?
