In a sprawling housing estate still under development, two bored teenagers play increasingly risky games. Their teasing coquetry quickly takes a dark turn, but disturbing events that should snap the couple out of it only seem to draw them closer together. A winner and nominee for several Walkley Awards, director Rebecca Metcalf capitalises on her background in documentary and journalism to deploy observational shots of half-built homes, construction sites and endless drilling, depicting this outer suburb as a site not only of ennui but of subtle menace.
