Almaraz was an important voice in the Chicano Art Movement, comrade to Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers Union and responsible for bringing Chicano Art to the forefront by orchestrating a first of its kind exhibition at LACMA, catapulting Chicano Art into the mainstream.
